You can tell it’s a lazy Saturday afternoon when I’ve got time to post up several things on the site. I’ve been messing around with Twitter this morning, listening to the news (not recommended), been holding an epic procrastination run on going to the gym, playing with the dog and generally having a pretty chill day.
Friday nights tend to be when I chat with an old friend I’ve known for over 30 years who lives about 15 hours away. It used to be Friday nights were for going out, getting stupid, and getting in trouble. Now a comfy chair, a cold beverage and a phone chat is considered a good night – times have changed! Anyway, I’m chatting with my buddy last night, who happens to run a Survival Hunter and is the one that got me into the game, about why we got out butts kicked so badly in the last few Arena matches we played (which is why I was checking out this druid video). We got talking, running through different variations of opening moves, at one point I was sketching out an attack plan. It went on.
(The wife walks into the room to grab something and catches some bits of the conversation and give me that look, the “What the hell are you two geeks talking about now?” look and then walks back out)
Long story short I look up and realize that we’ve been chatting about the game for almost an hour and a half! Just talking about it…not even playing. We got laughing about how we not only “waste” a ton of time playing this stupid game but now we’re wasting time simply talking about it. Pretty weak. Foolish, even. So we did what any clear thinking WoW player would do. We hung up the phone. And then went online and chatted via Skype while we played. And that, my friends, is what they call “Multitasking.”
