Grabbing a PuG (Pick up Group) for a random quest or farming session is not all that big of a deal. If the guy (or gal) can do something right you’ll be in good shape. No real big deal. But what if you are picking up a total stranger for a higher level dungeon/instance/raid? Are you going to take his word that he knows what he’s doing? Or would you rather know for sure?

After a few failed attempts at getting a good shot at the Nexus I finally made the first successful run. First impression? Very cool and pretty good drops! We had a full group with two players who had run the Nexus many times before. The line up included a level 80 Death Knight as main Tank and a level 75 Shammy on heals. If you spend a good deal of time knocking out quests you’ve probably come across these “digging through crap” quests before. Read more… »
Trying to bang out quests in the Geyser Fields of the Borean Tundra is not all that hard at level 70 but it can be time consuming. There are tons of mobs just loitering about and with the janky terrain it’s very easy to wander into their aggro range. Not hard to take down but it takes time.
So I’m running around yanking dog tags off of dead gnome pilots, which are all over the place in the Geyser Fields, (poor little buggers) and something catches my eye. Read more… »
It’s about my third session running around in the Wotlk expansion and I’m getting a feel for the Borean Tundra. I’ve gotten back into the swing of clustering quests and knocking them out of the way pretty quickly. Most of the quests I’ve come across so far are forgettable. Lot’s of “go kill 10 of these” style quests so I just plow through them without much thought. One of these, however, did seem a bit weird. Read more… »
