If you’ve not yet seen the patch notes for 3.1 when it comes to Druids my inital general overall feeling – “Umm..wait…did we just get a freaking sweet bump?” I’ve been paying scant attention to the endless discussions and guessing over this patch but it looks like we made out pretty good. There is a TON of new crap to take a look at. Mounts can swim, jousting is a thing now and Iron Forge will now be called “Iron Forge of City Bank” due to a sponsorship between the bank and Blizz. There will be ATMs all over Azeroth that you can get gold from instead of going to the bank. These ATMs can be operated in any land form (cat, travel, bear, Moonkin, Tree) and from land mounts but not flying mounts or flying forms. If you open a City Bank WoW Checking Account you get a free plush Murloc toy and a complimentary in-game beach towel sporting the City Bank logo. (just kidding) Here is just the Druid section of the 3.1 patch…. Read more… »

So I’m caving into practicality and making myself a bank alt. See, it all starts out innocently enough: One night it’s…”Gee, I think I’ll look into these addon thingys.” The next day…”Auctioneer is awesome!” and then “I need a bank alt.” A bank alt is simply a little toon you make up and park very close to an Auction House. Lvl 1 is fine. You don’t even need to do anything with him at all until you start making money. Once you start making money its apparently a rule that you pimp him out in all the finest useless garb (like a Black Tuxedo to start). Bank alts save you time and money. Banks alts are a good thing. Grabbing a PuG (Pick up Group) for a random quest or farming session is not all that big of a deal. If the guy (or gal) can do something right you’ll be in good shape. No real big deal. But what if you are picking up a total stranger for a higher level dungeon/instance/raid? Are you going to take his word that he knows what he’s doing? Or would you rather know for sure?
After a few failed attempts at getting a good shot at the Nexus I finally made the first successful run. First impression? Very cool and pretty good drops! We had a full group with two players who had run the Nexus many times before. The line up included a level 80 Death Knight as main Tank and a level 75 Shammy on heals. With myself at level 71 (dinged 72 inside), a level 71 Hunter and a level 71 Mage all on DPS we were able to burn through it pretty fast. Read more… »
There are times when we get in over our heads. Typically I find myself in bad, and embarrassing, situations when I’m not paying attention…either the TV is on, I’m on the phone, cracking open a frost beverage or whatever. One of the aspects of the game that’s the most fun is that your situation can go from totally fine to critical in about 30 seconds. Read more… »
There are tons of quests to bang out in the Geyser Fields. Tons. The one that caught my eye was one where, and I’m not making this up, I had to dig through fresh piles of wolf crap looking for pieces of Microfilm. If you spend a good deal of time knocking out quests you’ve probably come across these “digging through crap” quests before. Read more… »
