Fishing is a great secondary profession to max out as quick as you can. It brings in stuff to eat for free, the random bit of loot, gives you the chance to win fabulous prizes and it’s good for the nerves. To get rolling on fishing simply stop by any fishing trainer to pick up the skill, grab a pole and head for the shore. But once your reach 150 skill in fishing where do you go from there? Get yer booty over to Booty Bay and talk to a guy that looks like Sam Elliott. Read more… »

The Professions you decide on for your Druid are going to have a pretty big impact on your characters gold, gear and success. For those players that do not take full advantage of the professions in the game will, almost without exception, have less gold and much crappier gear than someone who works at their professions. Many times those that give up on a specific profession have become frustrated or overwhelmed with the requirements of their trade. For newer players this is even more prevalent. Read more… »
Why in the world would you care about fishing in the World of Warcraft as a Druid? What’s the point and what do you get? Is it worth it? The first time I bought a fishing pole for one of my characters I thought it was the dumbest thing in the game and the biggest waste of time. As a result I got my fishing skill to a whopping 5 and then sold the pole never to fish again with that character. Read more… »
What professions do you use with your Druid? What are the best professions if your toon is balance Balance, Resto or Feral? Are you going to focus on PvE or PvP or both and how can your professions be used to best boost your choice. This is a big topic and if you ever want to start some fun on a WoW Druid forum just ask the question “What are the best professions for a Druid?” and watch the sparks fly.
Professions are important in Wow to be sure. They can take a lot of time, drive you crazy and make you some good money all in the same session. There is something, though, about skilling up something that you can take advantage of. Nice little write up over at Warycry on in game professions and how they apply to druids. Personally I’ve always been a miner. Probably because I’ve got little patience and like easy gold. Sue me…(:->). I started off as a leather worker as it seemed to make sense (I can wear what I make..nice!) yet I found that pretty quickly I was able to get better stuff from drops than I could make. Also once I discovered the AH my leather working days were petty much over. Now, however, I wish I’d kept with it as it really is kinda fun and gets way better at middle and higher levels. I simply did not put enough time and enffort into it to get the benefits of it. If I had I would have fared much better! Gathering the needed supplies, getting patterns and all that is more fun for me now than it was when I started. Anyway, take a look at Warcry.com’s Druid Profession Guide.
While you can only choose two primary professions there is no reason not to become a master in all the secondary skills! First Aid is a must. I know what you’re thinking, “But I’m a druid, what do I need additional healing for?” You do, just trust me on this one. If you don’t work your first aid you’ll never know this but once you have it you’re golden. Just work it up, keep it up and you’ll be happy you did. Don’t be that druid standing out, totally out of mana, who can’t even slap a bandage on a caster between pulls!
