SO I’m out of practice. I’ve been plunking away here and there getting back up to speed on good ‘ol Bolink the Balance Druid. My fingers are slow to respond, I’m mis-clicking on spells, making dumb mistakes. But it’s coming back. Tonight I jumped in with a buddy of mine and we quickly grabbed a Nexus run. The biggest challenge I’m having at the moment is putting the spell rotations back inline. My DPS just sucks at the moment and tho my gear is okay it comes down to stringing together the crits and procs. Read more… »

After yesterdays post all the old EQ quirks and issues came flooding back. A couple other main points, that in comparison to World of Warcraft today, seem just crazy. (I’ve been on a nostalgic bent the last few days on my gaming past and how it got me to playing a Druid in the World of Warcraft)
As I loaded the disks onto my brand new Dell desktop for my shiny new Everquest game back in the fall of 1999 I have to admit, it was pretty exciting. After being away from my geeky childhood of playing D&D for years it actually felt pretty good to be getting back into the world of Fantasy games. I had missed the imagination, the stories and the simple joy of running around wacking at monsters and trying to figure stuff out. Thinking back to the 80′s (ouch…how does 20 years flit by like that?) I recall that a pretty fun night was sitting around a table with a bunch of guys (girls? meh) with stacks of books, papers, piles of dice and enough caffeine and sugar to kill a small horse.
