Yes, I agree. There’s still tons I miss about the old EQ. It changed too much over time; however.

But in spite of how hard the quests were – maybe getting to level 15 before you even got an item with +1 INT on it.. it was tons of fun.

And grouping – even at lower levels in EQ, wasn’t quite as ‘optional’. It was pretty necessary unless you wanted to spend lots of time killing easy stuff – even then, the all-powerful soloers like Necros and Druids, were forced to group sometimes.

I wish I had kept up on EQ back then. For how hard I recall it being it really was pretty fascinating and a lot of fun as well!

Wow.

I have a guildie in WoW that started playing EQ when it first came out, and still plays it. Manages to play both WoW and EQ and I guess is really really successful in EQ. O.o
